I’ve been writing stories since the first grade, when my aspiring writer father encouraged me and gave me a small metal file cabinet with "Helen's Story Box" written on it in permanent marker. I began my first novel, a young adult romance, in the eighth grade. Although it will never see the light of day, I still have the manuscript that I typed on an old IBM Selectric.

I stopped writing to attend college and law school. I married my law school sweetheart and settled in Colorado to raise a family. My two sons, now 15 and 12, are the light of my life. When I hit the big 4-0, I decided to get back to writing. After completing a young adult fantasy fiction manuscript, I needed a fun read for a plane ride, so I picked up a romance (Nora Roberts' Morrigan's Cross) for the first time in ten years. I got hooked all over again and decided to give romance writing a try. I have completed several romance manuscripts, and I also work as an editor for a small press.

I am a member of Romance Writers of America and Colorado Romance Writers. My favorite romance novelists are Lisa Kleypas, Eloisa James, and Joan Johnston.

My non-writing interests include Harley rides with my husband, traveling, attending my sons' sports and music performances, and taekwondo (I’m a first degree blackbelt).
